How this calculator works
- Monthly repayment. One EMI a month; interest each month = opening balance ร annual rate รท 12 (reducing balance).
- First EMI date is the date of the first EMI. Each later EMI falls on the same day of the following months (end of month if that day does not exist).
- Moratorium months come before the first EMI and are not part of the repayment tenure. Choose whether interest is added to the loan or paid each month.
- Rounding: the EMI is not rounded to the rupee; the last EMI absorbs the small difference. Tables show whole rupees.
- Banks may count interest by actual days, round the EMI, or add charges โ their schedule can differ slightly.
