Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. These are projections at a constant assumed rate, not guaranteed returns. Taxes, exit loads and expense ratios are not considered.
How this calculator works
- Contribution timing: each SIP is invested at the start of the month (annuity-due).
- Compounding: monthly, at the expected annual return รท 12.
- Step-up: the monthly SIP rises by the step-up % once a year โ from month 13, 25, 37 and so on.
- Lump sum: invested in month 1 and grows at the same rate.
- Today's money: future value รท (1 + inflation)years.
- The return is an assumption you choose. Actual fund returns change every year and can be negative.
Worked example
โน10,000 a month at 12% for 10 years, no step-up.Monthly rate = 1%; 120 instalments.
Value = 10,000 ร [(1.01120 โ 1) รท 0.01] ร 1.01 = โน23,23,391.
Invested โน12,00,000 โ projected gain โน11,23,391.
With a 10% yearly step-up the projection is โน33,74,326 on โน19,12,491 invested.
